Learn to Row
The University of New South Wales Rowing Club runs a Learn to Row program five times a year as a Recreational Course through the UNSW Sports Association.
To row out of the UNSW shed you must either be a proficient rower or have completed the three day course.
The course teaches basic rowing technique and safety. Participants must be able to swim to attend this course.
Select rowers may be invited to join the Novice squad at the completion of the course. The squad trains
weekday mornings at 5:30am and progresses rowers to a standard for racing at regattas.
This course will provide a basic skills introduction to rowing. It includes instruction and practice of rowing technique on the ergometers, in sculls and crew boats. Generally there will be three accredited coaches in attendance at every lesson. The rowing Club host a BBQ on the last day of each Course. This course always fills quickly.
